School Blinds
School blinds are a necessity in today's classrooms to protect whiteboards and projectors from sunlight obscuring. There are different reasons for needing school blinds such as:
- reducing glare,
- controlling heat,
- complete room darkening,
- providing privacy.
Some school blinds are more suitable than others depending on the reasons for needing them and location of the windows. Flame-retardant materials should be used for school blinds to comply with health and safety regulations.
Electrical School Blinds
It is wise to consider having fully automated (electrical) school blinds to ease the use and increase lifespan of the blinds. There are number of places suitable for electrical school blinds including:
- areas with high windows such as sports halls and theatres,
- places with interesting window shapes and hard to reach locations
Vertical School Blinds
Vertical school blinds are the perfect choice for computer laboratories. There are many fabric options for standard shading, high performance or dim-out/blackout blinds. Vertical school blinds are available with flame-retardant and washable slats. They are durable and easy to use. Wand operated school blinds are much safer than cord operated.
Venetian School Blinds
Venetian school blinds are a more traditional choice for blinds. It is easy to match up to existing blinds. Venetian school blinds are available in many colours including the popular silvers and white.
Roller School Blinds
Roller school blinds are available in a variety of colours and fabrics including flame-retardant and blackout materials. There are roller school blinds with side guide wires for the roller to run down (prevents the swinging of the roller blind at the window). There are tensioned roller school blinds which don't need the cords (adds safety).
Blackout School Blinds
Blackout school blinds are the ideal option for projection theatres and science laboratories. There are complete blackout roller and verticals school blinds or a dim-out option. Roller school blinds can be fitted with side channels offering a complete blackout It is also ideal for windows on a slant.
